Heading out of Gunnison to Hot Sulphur Springs and the weather is perfect, finally a relief from the heat. Shortly after getting out of Gunnison we found all traffic being detoured to route traffic away from the smoke and fires. Only put us about 30 miles out of our way. We got back on track and soon found rt 40 just west of Idaho Springs as having probably the most back-to-back switchbacks I've ever seen. A great ride uo to Winter Park and on to Hot Sulphur Springs.another great day if riding.
