Day 5

So I finally pull into Banff which makes Destin on a Holiday weekend look like a ghost town. Bumper to bumper traffic and people on the side walk are nearly shoulder to shoulder, deng! Finding the B & B was fun cuz, I have a garmin, it's a house in the middle of the neighborhood and there is no street sign. I finally find it and pull into the driveway and there is a car with Florida plates and a U of F gator plate holder. Anne and Lawrence (B&B owners) told me they are retired U of F profs and have been driving here (2700 miles one way) for the past 30 years and staying in this B&B for the past ten; haven't met them yet.  I settle in to what is basically an apartment, bedroom, living room, kitchen and bath. Once again it's make your own breakfast but in your own kitchen. Left the house to walk downtime for some supper and there is a deer laying in the next door yard, a few blocks later and there is a deer walking down the street like he owns it. Stopped in at "Boston Pizza," yes that sane chain that covered the word "Boston" when we beat the Cannucks for the Stanley cup! Ran into a older guy and wife from NH wearing a Bruins cap, chatted a bit and he says he loves wearing his B's hat in Canada...he got some wise crack remarks when he was n Vanouver. Today is a down day in Banff, laundry then a ride up the Icefields Pkwy to lake Louise.
