Day one was simple, fly to Manchester NH, spend the night
and pick up the pick in the AM. The first leg of the flight, Panama City to BWI
was fine; once we got to BWI the weather turned real nasty. We sat waiting at gate B2 because the plane
currently in the gate couldn’t leave due to the lightning striking all around
the airport; had everyone’s attention. After sitting for an hour a voice came over
the intercom saying all passengers at gate B2 waiting for flight 540, your gate
is now A11; which of course, was the farthest gate from where we were. So everyone
hustled to the gate, sat down (a lot of people actually ran like the plane
would leave without them) and caught their breath. We weren’t seated more than
5 minutes when over the intercom an announcement was made, if you are waiting
for flight 540 your gate still is, and will remain gate B2. There was a collective
WT@&#^%!. So everyone got up and hustled all the way back to B2. We
eventually boarded and then sat for an hour before the weather cleared again.
Was supposed to land at 9 PM but didn’t land until 1045PM. At least it was the
Hilton airport shuttle was still running. Tomorrow I will get the bike and head
for Quebec City.
