This museum is amazing! They have so much stuff…just sitting
there waiting to be restored. A crated 45 engine! Check out the tires on the
WLA trike. There is a snow ski board, the first jet ski, a mine cart, some kind
of grass cutter, a snow blower, couple more yard tools and a mean looking ice
saw, I couldn’t believe the list of American made motorcycles, hard to believe there
were that many. Check out the side-by-side bike for two…and Niceville makes the
map. Really an amazing museum.

Day 7 North Carolina
Now in NC and needing gas and stopped at this little station
in Nathan’s Creek. There is no place for my credit card? These are some old pumps! Filled up and
headed to Maggie Valley to visit Wheels through Time museum. Stopping for lunch
before the museum I stopped in the Buttered Biscuit. Even though it was 1230
they offered breakfast and lunch. I opted for lunch but the loud talker next to
me made it clear to all he wanted breakfast and he wanted French toast! The patient server who was dealing with this
guy simply said “sir, I can get you the toast but I can’t get you the French.
Whaaaa? I love traveling, there is always something weird.
Day 7, leaving Virginia
It’s hard to believe a week has passed and it is time to
head home already.
The first picture is Wytheville’s famous “Big Pencil.” It’s about 30 feet long and basically marks the office supply store. This is followed by some pics as I leave Virginia. A couple if things about Virginia, radar detectors are illegal, the cops don’t take to speeders (very active) most churches seemed to be called “New Hope,” there are a lot of tree farms, is the sign says ”falling rocks” believe it! Also, if you have allergies this is a rough time to be here.
